Homemade Dishwasher Detergent
- 1 cup borax
- 1 cup washing soda
- 1/2 cup kosher salt
- 1/2 cup Citric Acid (optional: use if dishes are cloudy after washing)
When you do a load use 1 tablespoon of detergent per load
Cost analysis:
4.99 - Borax 2kg - 10 cups
3.99 - Washing Soda 3kg - 15 cups
0.99 - Kosher Salt 1kg - 5 cup
2.87 - Citric Acid 0.5lb
I used:
0.10 - Kosher Salt
0.27 - Washing Soda
0.50 - Borax
1.44 - Citric Acid
Total to make recipe once.. $2.31 which translates to 5 cents per load.
Don't forget to fill rinse agent compartment with white vinegar.
