A trip back in time with another one of the nominated movies this time to 1920's with this black and white silent romantic comedy.

Not too far into the movie I was so swept away into the story that any spoken words by the lead characters would have actually been intrusive.

The acting is outstanding in this movie and makes you appreciate how just facial expressions can convey emotion so well that you understand exactly what the actor is trying to convey. There is a top notch story line about a silent movie super star and his fall from fame and about a rising star he helps. . It is gripping, sensitive and just plain terrific. Both my daughter and I thought we were so ingrossed in the story that we actually forgot their was no words and that the movie was in black and white.

We agreed this movie was so exceptional because it did not depend on stunts, shocking language or car crashes and shootings to hold your attention. You actually cared about the people and what happened to them because you understood them as people. We can't say that about many movies today.

I highly recommend this fabulous film!
